The parties involved with buying your home...
It is important to make sure the closing of your home goes smoothly. There are a lot of people that will be involved in the transaction of buying your house. Your real estate agent can make the process of selecting these individuals and companies appear to be seemless during the transaction. Nonetheless, if you are buying a home - you need to have all (or most) of these parties involved before you get to the closing table:
They might include.
- Mortgage broker/lender
- Loan processor
- Real Estate Agent
- Seller
- Home inspector - in most cases, you'll have a small window of opportunity to get an inspection done.
- Pest and dry rot inspector
- Appraiser - in most cases, you'll have a small window of opportunity to get an appraisal done.
- Handyman
- Title officer
- Insurance agent
- Real Estate Attorney
The list could be smaller but you can see there are a lot of people involved in the purchase of a home. So here is a punch list to keep the process moving when you are buying a home.
Your agent should be able to coordinate all of this for you and help you select the right team for you and your family.
Do yourself a favor and be prepared by contacting all of these parties before even looking at a house.
The first two things you should do before even looking at a house should be done in this order:
1. Contact Real Estate Agent
2. Get a pre-qualification letter from a lender
...now you're ready to start looking. Have your real estate agent work with you to coordinate the rest.
Don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions whatsoever. I'm here to help.
